About LWDA 60
The Workforce Development Board for Area 60 (LWDA 60) is responsible for overseeing workforce development programs in its designated region. Its main purpose is to ensure that the local workforce is trained and ready to meet the needs of employers, helping to drive economic growth and job creation. The board focuses on creating strategies for job training, employment services, and workforce initiatives in collaboration with local businesses, education providers, and community organizations.

Members of LWDA 60’s Workforce Development Board are chosen from a diverse group, including local business leaders, labor representatives, educational institutions, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. This ensures a broad perspective in decision-making that reflects the needs of both the workforce and the local economy.

The board makes important decisions about how workforce development funds are distributed, sets priorities for job training programs, and ensures compliance with federal and state workforce regulations. These decisions impact job seekers, businesses, and the community by guiding resources toward effective workforce solutions.

To maintain transparency, all LWDA 60 Workforce Development Board meetings are open to the public. This allows for community participation, and meeting records are made available to ensure accountability in decision-making processes.
LWDA 60, in collaboration with our One-Stop-Operator, provides leadership and direction to the community that closes the gap between what employers want and the skills workers have. Serving Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, and Winn Parishes, we focus on building relationships and trust, bring partners together, and coordinate resources that meet the needs of the economy of today and the future. LWDA 60 is dedicated to helping individuals explore and pursue their career paths.
